Tonight with Moeed Pirzada: Pakistani Cinema experienced it’s downfall due to piracy

Film Magnate and former chairman of Film Broadcasters association Mr.Nadeem Mandviwala joined Doctor Moeed Pirzada to comment on the recent ban on Mahira Khan’s Shah Rukh starrer “Raees” and to address the general perception that Indian films constitute most of the Pakistani Cinema business.
He said that Indian movies are popular in Pakistan because of a similar cross border culture and language. The golden era, for the Pakistani cinema came after the 1965 war, he said, when Indian film were banned in Pakistan.
He further said that Production houses in Pakistan have been shut down. The government needs to incentivise Cinema houses to start operations again.

  1. I am not a regular viewer of Indian or English movies and not much interested in Cinemas. However for a balanced , healthy and delightful society Cinemas, Parks, Exhibitions, Cultural shows and different art based activities are required. You have presented this topic very thoughtfully , People like you’re very rare in our society. You know what are issues and how to solve them. Govt should take advantage of your extraordinary skills.
