Tonight With Moeed Pirzada: Consequences of demonetization in India

Dr Moeed Pirzada discussed with an Indian analyst Sanjay kumar the outcomes of Indian government last month’s move of demonetization.
The demonetization of 500 and 1,000 banknotes was a policy enacted by the Government of India on 8 November 2016, ceasing the usage 500 and 1000 rupees notes and  announced the issuance of new 500 and 2,000 banknotes of the Mahatma Gandhi New Series in exchange for the old banknotes.
Sanjay Kumar told in detail that how economists, opposition and Middle class people are criticizing the move. People are standing in long queues at banks. More than 100 people died in events related to demonetization. Sanjay Kumar said that this will leave negative effect on Modi’s upcoming elections.
