Tonight With Moeed Pirzada: US-Turkey Relations in after Failed Coup !!!

Since the failed attempt of military coup in Turkey, Washington’s relations with Ankara went on the back burner. US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Joseph Dunford, is rushing to Turkey on an unexpected visit, after President Erdogan’s allies directly accused the US of being behind the failed coup attempt in the country and have begun purging members of the Turkish military with ties to the United States. Dr. Moeed Yusuf, Director of Sout Asia program in United States Institute of Peace said that West is not happy the way Erdogan is behaving after failed coup attempt. Erdogan accused that all those elements fighting against ISIS are also active against Turkey. Erdogan’s flight from America towards Russian in Putin’s camp is an act of balancing to create leverage said Dr. Moeed Yusuf. He also said that the extradition of Fatehullah Gollen is not expected in near future. Erdogan’s has dictatorial tendency and has got opportunity to suppress his opponent and it will be difficult for himself to sustain for longer time.
