Tonight With Moeed Pirzada: US-Turkey Relations in after Failed Coup !!!

Since the failed attempt of military coup in Turkey, Washington’s relations with Ankara went on the back burner. US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Joseph Dunford, is rushing to Turkey on an unexpected visit, after President Erdogan’s allies directly accused the US of being behind the failed coup attempt in the country and have begun purging members of the Turkish military with ties to the United States. Dr. Moeed Yusuf, Director of Sout Asia program in United States Institute of Peace said that West is not happy the way Erdogan is behaving after failed coup attempt. Erdogan accused that all those elements fighting against ISIS are also active against Turkey. Erdogan’s flight from America towards Russian in Putin’s camp is an act of balancing to create leverage said Dr. Moeed Yusuf. He also said that the extradition of Fatehullah Gollen is not expected in near future. Erdogan’s has dictatorial tendency and has got opportunity to suppress his opponent and it will be difficult for himself to sustain for longer time.

Tonight With Moeed Pirzada: An Exclusive Interview with Mr. Zachary Harkenrider !!!

Doctor Moeed Pirzada held a discussion with the outgoing US consul general Mr. Zachary Harkenrider via satellite link from Lahore. The Consul general held optimistic views on Pakistan’s future. He had quoted previously in an Op-ed article in a local publication that he was leaving Pakistan as a guarded optimist. Addressing this term, he said that one should exercise optimism with a sense of humility and caution. He was very descriptive about his tenure in Pakistan, both in lahore as consul general and in Islamabad as Deputy head of political affairs. He said that he was confident that Pakistan had potential to become Asia’s next economic success story. Addressing a question about the often intertwined Pakistan – India – US relations, he said that America’s relations with both these countries existed exclusively and independently. Regarding the controversial killing of Mullah Mansoor, he said that it was a necessary action at the time and it was essential to the US and Afghan national security. Mr. Zachary Harkenrider also said that the US and Pakistan have been allies for the past 60 years and this relationship requires to be preserved. Mr. Harkinder said that he did not see the current turmoil in the US Pakistan relations as anything more than a difference of perspectives. He said that the United States has always been very clear on its policy about Pakistan, and it has always been one of strong ties and mutual cooperation between the two countries.

Tonight with Moeed Pirzada: An Exclusive interview with Imran Khan !!!

In an Exclusive discussion with PTI Chairman Imran Khan Dr Moeed Pirzada discusses political vision of Pakistan Tehrek Insaf on different issues. The discussion was carried out after PTI had announced a massive campaign against Government starting from 7th August 2016. Imran Khan said that the campaign wasn’t meant to overthrow Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The main purpose to start this campaign was to spread awareness among public against corruption. Campaign was meant to be initiated from Peshawar to Rawalpindi. PTI chairman said that his party would go to all legal ways on panama leaks investigation. And in case they didn’t get justice, last option would be to come on streets. He said that he wanted to expose all government institutions like NAB and Election Commission. While talking about PTI failure in Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly Elections 2016, PTI chairmen said that the party was not expecting to win the elections but they were definitely expecting more seats in the election. He said that corruption is the main problem of the country and PMLN led government was involved in mega corruption cases. He said that public taxes money and funds should be used for their development not for corruption of the rulers. Imran Khan highlighted performance of PTI led government in Khyber Pakhtoon Khaw. He took the credit to have improved policing in the province with reduced political interference. Also he said that an independent Ehtasab commission was established in the province to check the corruption and make sure all the appointments in government departments are done on merit basis. He also said that his province was trying to improve local bodies system to transfer the power to grass root level. During the discussion Imran Khan expressed his wish to get married for the third time, as he thought that married life was better than an unmarried one. He said that he would not hide his marriage from the public.

Tonight With Moeed Pirzada: Waseem Akhter Confession !!! Rao Anwar Perspective !!!

Dr Moeed Pirzada discusses the confessional statement and the investigation of MQM leader and nominated Mayor of Karachi waseem akhtar with SSP Malir Karachi Rao Anwar. The legality of the confessional statement of Waseem Akhtar in police custody was questioned by Dr Pirzada. According to SSP Rao Anwar police was investigating the case in details and he was quite confident that all the culprits involved in 12th May 2007 unrest and killings in Karachi would be brought to justice. Rao Anwar also told that Waseem Akhtar’s confessional statement was not under any kind of torture or stress. He said that Jail’s difficult conditions make people to speak truth and confess to their wrong doings. A denial letter by the name of Waseem Akhtar and his signature and CNIC was circulated in media but SSP Rao Anwar rejected the letter and kept on saying that Waseem Akhtar did accept his involvement in the crime occurred on 12th May 2007 in Karachi.

While talking to Dr Moeed Pirzada Former Sindh chief minister Liaquat Ali Jatoi said that Murad Ali Shah as the new chief minister saying that he will not be acceptable to the people of the province because he is involved in siphoning off funds meant for development schemes. Liaquat Ali Jatoi said that Murad Ali Shah shameful history of targeting opponents. His father former Sindh chief minister Syed Abdullah Shah who had obtained party ticket through his father Abdul Hameed Khan Jatoi was involved in the murder of Mir Murtaza Bhutto, he said All those who were involved in the assassinations of Benazir Bhutto and her brother Murtaza Bhutto had joined hands now but now Zardari politics would no more work while he remained stuck to Dubai, he said adding he should come and face people here.

After recent unrest in Kashmir valley where more than 50 innocent people died and thousands got injured, while hundreds other got blind due to pellet guns. Jibran Nasir who is social media activist and has recently started campaign against frequent use of so called non-lethal weapon by Indian security forces. He told that the bollywood actors are well known personalities in India and people admire them, therefore he adopted this concept to show their faces damaged with pellet firing just to get empathy for innocent Kashmiri people.
Indian is now Facebook’s highest ranking users with 1.95 Million ahead of USA with 1.91 Million users. It is in the business interests of all social media websites and other technological companies have deep interest in India, due to which they get influenced by India.  International media and other human rights organizations must raise issue of Kashmiris without any discrimination.

Following the cold blooded murder of Social media celebrity and model Qandeel Baloch, mixed reactions broke out over the Internet about the confession of her brother. Thousands of people were of the opinion that Ms.Baloch deserved to be killed on the context of her scandalous videos and her brother’s actions were justified. Dr.Pirzada,  commenting on the social ill that is the hypocritical perception of honor killing, said that Pakistanis created the sensation themselves. Qandeel was merely a poor girl trying to make it big, Pakistanis have this hypocrisy integrated in their roots; family honor and respect are only considered abrogated when a girl in the family is involved in a socially unacceptable act (which in itself is a question) it does not get in the way when a man commits a felony

To discuss the updated situationoin Indian Occupied Kashmir, where still curfew is imposed and people are facing difficulties. Editor of Rising Kashmir, Mr. Shujaat Bukhari from Srinagar was invited by Dr. Moeed Pirzada. Mr. Bukhari said that Pakistan’s policy regarding Kashmir lacks clarity and never remained consistent especially after 1990s when it took u-turn from its defined policy on Kashmir. He stressed that there should be a clear vision by the government of Pakistan.
Mr. Bukhari told that Indian had issued a notification to stop publication of newspapers around Kashmir valley. Indian forces raided and shut down a three major printing press of newspapers. Mobile service, T.V cables and even internet is also blocked by Indian government. Kashmir is a political matter and should be deal politically but since 2008 Mumbai attacks there is now progress over it. Kashmiris are under stress and feeling unsecured due to BJP’s policy.
One segment of Indian newspapers reported the Kashmir’s current situation with responsibility but other segment pushed the matter towards more conflicting situation. Unfortunately International media also ignores to report Kashmir unless there are killings of Kashmiris by Indian forces.

While Talking to Dr Moeed Pirzada Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed Leader of the Opposition of Punjab said that if NAB and other offices had been doing their job today, money laundering would have stopped completely. NAB has badly failed to fulfil its job.
Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed said NAB should answer why the inquiry lingered onto 15 years if it did not manage to gather any evidence. He asked why the time and resources of taxpayers’ money were wasted for 15 years if inquiry did not achieve anything.
He said that PML-N Government was behind the pressure to drop the charges against its minister. “These are routine tactics of PML-N to pressurise institutions for its political gains.

Former Ambassador to Turkey and Afghanistan Tariq Azizuddin was of the opinion that the time for this attempt was not appropriate. Tayyip Erdogan is unpopular, but it was not as potent as to convince the general public to give in to the military.
Former Foreign Secretary, Mr Najmuddin Sheikh said that he did not assess the situation to have been fuelled by the west or Gollen. He said that Turkey is trying to revive it’s diplomatic relations with Russia, Syria and even Israel.
He further stated that Erdogan is trying to gain excess power by transforming parliamentary government system to presidential system owing to which there are lesser possibilities of Turkey being included in the European Union.
Dr. Zafar Jaspaal, Head of school of Politics and International Relations, Quaid e Azam university, said that the western media has created sensation out of the whole scenario. The transformation in the diplomatic status of Russia Syria and Israel could’ve been the root cause of this mutiny.
