Tonight With Moeed Pirzada: Khurram Gandapur’s take on the Raiwind March !!!

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, senior leader of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, joined Doctor Moeed Pirzada to answer some very general and public queries about PAT’s sudden backing out of the 24th September Raiwind march. The Awami Tehreek has declared that there is a danger of police oppression and hostility from the authorities which is why the PAT does not deem it safe and appropriate to participate in the PTI-led march.

Mr. Gandapur further said that the Panama issue can only be resolved through the TOR’s proposed by PPP’s senior leader Mr. Aitzaz Ahsan in his press conference. Mr. Gandapur said that they were not afraid. He even went on to say that if he had been afraid, then despite receiving death threats he would not have come on television and declared the Prime Minister a thief.

Tonight With Moeed Pirzada: PAT, PTI and the Panama love affair!

Doctor Moeed Pirzada analyzed the sudden pull out of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chief Doctor Tahir Ul Qadri from the Pakistan Tehreek I Insaf’s Raiwind march planned for 24th of September. Doctor Qadri had previously hinted at moving towards Jati Umra (The Prime Minister’s personal residence) for a demonstration.

It seems as if the politically charged atmosphere that was in place a few months ago in light of the Panama disclosures, has completely died down and the political parties that were once very active on the narrative have no consensus amongst themselves.

Tonight With Moeed Pirzada: Shah Mehmood and the PTI’s 24th September Plan !!!

Shah Mehmood and the PTI’s 24th September plan
Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Senior Leader of Pakistan Tehreek E Insaf joined Doctor Moeed Pirzada to comment on Imran Khan’s renewed protestant campaign against the Panama leaks implications.
The PTI leader said that 9 opposition parties have a unanimous verdict on the Panama matter. All the parties have resolved to take the issue to a responsible end.
He said that the Raiwind protest is being opposed by the opposition only due to the date and the venue. We have, he said, proposed to change the date and venue as per the opposition’s suitability.
Mr. Qureshi also said that the party will not breach the sanctity of someone’s home. The 24th September rally is not going to affect the residents of Jati Umra. Commenting on the total gist of the narrative, Mr. Qureshi said that the corrupt system needs to be buried.

Tonight With Moeed Pirzada: Future of References against PM and Imran Khan !!!

In an exclusive segment with former secretary election commission of Pakistan Kanwar Dilshad Dr Pirzada discusses the current political movement of Opposition against PM Nawaz Sharif related to panama leaks investigations.  In a strange move speaker of national assembly sardra ayaz sadiq rejected all the six references from opposition parties against Prime minister to get him disqualified from the national assembly.
On the other hand Speaker Ayaz Sadiq forwarded the reference against PTI chairman Imran Khan to Election commission of Pakistan. Kanwar Dilshad, former secretary Election commission while talking in the program said that speaker Ayaz Sadiq made a wrong move by only forwarding reference against Imran Khan and rejection References against Prime minister.
He said speaker has given priority to PM sharif’s interests over the country’s interests. He was surprised that Mr Ayaz Sadiq ignored the documented proofs provided by Former Chief Justice Iftikhar Ch attached with his reference for PM’s qualification as well. Kanwar Dilshad was also of the view that Election Commission would have to make final decision of the references because if Supreme Court gets involved in the ineligibility cases, it will not be able to make direct decisions and ultimately election commission would be involved in it.  He said once the matter is in the Supreme Court then there are equal chances for disqualification of both PM Nawaz Sharif and PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

Tonight With Moeed Pirzada: Imran Khan’s questions and Doctor Qadri’s voodoo magic !!!

Imran Khan’s questions and Doctor Qadri’s voodoo magic: Raiwind under threat and sugar mill on fire!
Doctor Moeed Pirzada opened with the four questions that the PTI chief Imran Khan has demanded answers of from the Prime Minister. Doctor Pirzada commented on the old threat; Imran Khan has been threatening to go to Raiwind since April this year when the Panama fiasco was in a full revolutionary swing. Although it is not really clear what the PTI intends to do there; whether if it will be a demonstration or a protest or a rally.
A distinct change in the PTI narrative has been observed over time. The PTI has announced that if need be, it will go to Raiwind alone.
Commenting on Tahir Ul Qadri’s fire anecdote and the coincidence that followed, the Doctor said that it is extremely mysterious how Ramzan Sugar Mills in Chiniot caught fire exactly when Mr.Qadri was implicating how 300 Indian workers have been recruited to work in the Premier’s family businesses and if this matter is not looked into, the records might catch fire as they have done so in the past. Doctor Moeed also commented on how the Indian chess pieces have emerged as solid elements in domestic Pakistani politics for the first time in history.
The stage has been set, all the elements are in place. What remains to be seen, is how the parties will play their moves.

Tonight With Moeed Pirzada: An Exclusive Interview With Shiekh Rasheed !!!

Mr.Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, the Chief of Awami League, joined Doctor Moeed Pirzada to comment on the current political upheavals and to present his infamous political predictions Mr. Rasheed said that regarding the extension of the army chief, he believed that one of the two Shareefs have to leave and it has to be the one with the stick. Regarding the MQM fiasco, he said that MQM had it coming to them.

Nabeel Gabol on MQM politics after Altaf hate speech !!!

Dr Pirzada talks to senior politician and former MNA of MQM regarding the recent hate speech of MQM head Altaf Hussain against Pakistan. Nabeel gabol said that MQM leader Farooq Sattar was being expected to renounce allegiance to Altaf Hussain, which he did not. He said that Farooq sattar is a weak politician who can’t take pressure. He considers that Governor Sindh ishratul Ibad could become a true Muhajir leader. Dr Moeed Pirzada mentioned a report circulating in social media about MQM strategy and plan to attack media channel and get their few workers killed by their already deployed snipers in order to defame rangers in Karachi. Nabeel gabol agreed to such report about MQM and added that rangers found about the plan which was the main reason rangers reached late at ary news channel and let the police intervene first to the scene. Nabeel gabol was optimistic about the improved situation in Karachi. He said that Muhajir’s are not traitor of country. They now recognize real face of Altaf Hussain working for Indian intelligence agency “Raw” .Posters and pictures at MQM headquarter Nine Zero was removed by their own followers. Nabeel Gabol also said that Altaf Hussain pretends and act like a mentally disable person but in fact he is trying to play smart for intelligence agencies of west and India to bring chaos and unrest in Pakistan. But Altaf hussain has become irrelevant to the intelligence agencies of India and west because he is now unable to distort security situation of Karachi that has improved as a result of rangers operation.

From Bhai to Sahab; The Rebel, the Londoner and the Golden Goose !!!

Leading with the anecdote of the Golden Goose fable, Doctor Pirzada built up the MQM narration from how the Indian Prime Minister, the instigator of all the political upheavals and insurgencies in Pakistan, has exposed all his assets in Pakistan in a moment of sheer desperation. One of these Geese, MQM chief Altaf Hussein, is about to see an end to his political regime. The Pak Sarzameen Party Chief Mr. Mustafa Kamal bombarded the MQM rebel Mr. Farooq Sattar with inquisitions about the notorious Altaf Bhai. Mr. Sattar responded with a press conference about how he does not need to present justifications and that the MQM Pakistan does not have anything to do with Altaf Hussein and the London faction. Mr. Farooq Sattar’s slow descent from Altaf Bhai to Altaf Sahab is an interesting element in all of this. This war of words does not seem to present a clear picture. This Pakistani game of thrones might still have some players to reveal.

Ismail Khan elaborates the FATA reforms !!!

Mr.Ismail Khan, eminent journalist and senior analyst joined Doctor Moeed Pirzada to throw elaboration to the FATA reforms presented by the SAFRON ministry on August 23rd to the Prime Minister. The FATA reforms are a set of proposals made by a high profile committee chaired by the Adviser of Foreign Affairs Mr.Sartaj Aziz.
Mr. Khan said that the FATA reforms are a positive way forward. The popular consensus on the administrative structure is to integrate FATA with KPK provincial government. This would be the most suitable of the four proposals, and is the need of the current demographics.
Commenting on the proposal to sustain the Jirga system, Mr.Khan said that since it is an important and integral part of the FATA culture and local dynamics, it should be allowed to continue until a new system is formulated and replaced.

MQM Drama in Karachi: Who is playing the game? Altaf, Farooq Sattar or RAW?

Doctor Moeed Pirzada analyzed the MQM situation, the confusing state of affairs and the possible outcomes. People, in general, are suspicious of the whole affair. The supposed “declaration of independence” from the London wing of MQM by Doctor Farooq Sattar is not too believable owing to the fact that the MQM party structures are built around the founder Altaf Hussein. From major decision making to micro management, the whole nexus is webbed around the MQM chief. So the picture painted by doctor Farooq Sattar might not be what actually is. Moreover, the Rabta committee has been dissolved many times in the past. The demand for banning MQM is a very delusional one. MQM is embedded into the deep roots of the Karachi – Hyderabad political spectrums. The need of the hour, is that the politicians and members who are afraid to stand up to Altaf Hussein, be given reassurances and protection so that the problem can be resolved. The objection of the British authorities about the language barrier and the words of Mr.Hussin not being tangible enough for prosecution, is a baseless argument as there are video evidences and transcripts. It is the test of the interior ministry now, as to how they proceed with this case.

What a political circus? Waseem Akhtar will run Karachi from Jail? On a laptop or IPhone?

Former Inspector General of Police, Tahir Alam Khan joined Doctor Moeed Pirzada on his show to elaborate the technicalities of the Altaf Hussein fiasco and the imprisoned Mayor of Karachi, Mr. Waseem Akhtar. Addressing the Mayor issue, Mr. Alam said that the prosecution procedure of public office holders is often influenced and slow. It is hindered by the fear and oppression of power. Mr. Alam said if someone dies in custody, be it any reason, the investigating officers and captors have to face the consequences. The police are oppressed and have minimal liberties when it comes to dealing with such cases. He said that prosecution procedures need improvising. The IGP explained that there are two wings of police operative in Karachi; the operational wing and the investigation wing. The operational wing, he said, is much more functional, aggressive and liberated. Contrarily, weaker officers and easily influenced people are appointed in the investigation wing to create loopholes. Commenting on the recent uproar caused by Mr. Altaf Hussein’s antagonistic statements, he said that Pakistan needs to issue a red warrant and bring Mr. Hussein into custody immediately.

What Mustafa Kamal tells us about Dr. Farooq Sattar’s Declaration of Independence from Karachi?

The Chief of Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Mr. Mustafa Kamal joined in to comment on the chain of events in Karachi, the political equilibrium and the stance of his recently formed political party. Expressing his views on the apparently rebellious route taken by Mr. Farooq Sattar, Mr. Kamal said that Farooq Sattar does not possess a rebellious element within him. He alleged that Altaf Hussein has previously abused Pakistan in front of Farooq Sattar multiple times. The PSP chief was of the opinion that the MQM founder Mr. Altaf Hussein cannot see anyone else heading the party as long as he’s alive. He also expressed his clear views on the alleged alliance between Indian stakeholders and Mr.Altaf Hussein. He said that Mr.Altaf Hussein and the Indian miscreants have been allies for two decades. Mr.Kamal was of the opinion that London will take any actions whatsoever against any complaints that the Pakistani authorities register against him. He further said that Mr.Farooq Sattar is manipulating the migrants and Pakistanis for his own benefits.

Of Altaf Hussain & London: First Steps..!

Altaf Hussain’s incitement to violence and exhortation to attack media channels has many dimensions and while he may look like acting in sheer frustration, its quite possible that he is acting on being prompted from some quarters – and ‘hunger strike of MQM workers’ was a convenient stage set for inciting something big. Govt of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Interior Ministry and Foreign Office need to quickly and carefully analyze the building scenario; they need to take several important decisions but some initial steps may greatly help and one of them is talking to UK Govt about Altaf Hussain’s political activities from London.

Unexpected political situation in Indian occupied Kashmir, with its unending array of disturbing audio and video images flowing onto international media from Al Jazeera to BBC- thousands demonstrating, chanting slogans against India, burning Indian flags and unfurling Pakistani flags, Indian CRPF firing on unarmed protesters and photos of poke marked faces disfigured and blinded by pellet firing by security apparatus – has suddenly thrown up new challenges for Modi government in Delhi. One major imperative for Modi government is to show to the people in India and to the world all over is that Pakistan – that supports Kashmiri resistance – is itself beset by violent insurgencies, religious and ethnic terrorism and political schisms of all sorts.

To politically naive this may look either far fetched or immoral depending upon levels of information and which side one belongs to. For instance to most Indians and western media and diplomats that see India through a very sympathetic and sadly ‘unrealistic lens’ this may look like yet another ‘conspiracy theory’ and to most Pakistanis this is yet another proof of ‘Indian vileness or Modi’s immorality’. Both are unjustified. From a realpolitik perspective, whatever India may do in Kashmir for long term solution is different from its immediate needs. What it needs immediately is: pacification of the crowds in Srinagar and adjacent areas.

Though Indian government fully understands that its ongoing, latest challenge with Kashmiri youth has less to do with Pakistani efforts and more to do with indigenous factors, but it is also an undeniable fact that Kashmiris derive ‘psychological strength and hope’ from Pakistan across the border. So putting an end to their hopes is important. Importing internally and exporting worldwide images of a Pakistan ridden with chaos, bleeding from its multiple wounds, confused and directionless, struggling on its knees, is the best way for Modi government to deflate, demoralize and defeat the hopes of Kashmiri youth. And there is nothing new about it; Indian government agencies and several sections of media aligned – even apparently serious sounding news channels – with state agencies routinely run these kinds of trailers on Pakistan; at times when nothing is happening in Pakistan, they invent imagery from films, documentaries and through rehash of old footages.

Pakistan thus – at the receiving end of this Offense/Defense paradigm created by Ajit Doval – has a very tough situation at hand. Despite its elevated rhetoric it can do little to trouble or help India in Kashmir. Given the grim human situation – to which Indians are unable to find any solution due to the polarization of their own mainstream politics and its massive swing to the right – Pakistanis can’t keep their mouths shut, though admittedly Nawaz Govt only took a bit of a tiny weeny position when worsening Kashmir situation and reactions of Pakistani media forced its hand. So million dollar question is: how to respond to the kind of situation India has created for it in Karachi after Quetta.

Many parts of  Baluchistan are disturbed, nationalistic feelings ran high in these few districts even before the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti, after all he was leading a kind of rebellion from hills on the issue of gas spoils. Though, admittedly his struggle was mainly focused on issues of royalty from Sui. But such feelings of anger and alienation multiplied after his tragic death about which fiercely opposing narratives exist. But these nationalistic aspirations and mini-insurgencies have gradually weakened since 2009/10 thorough determined intelligence lead operations by Frontier Fonstabulary (FC). In the last 18 months, insurgency has literally been defeated; with the death or disappearance of Dr. Allah Nazar (in all probability killed in intelligence lead operations)  the Robin Hood character, who had sustained an impression of ‘something real’ through his charismatic leadership. The recent arrest of RAW saboteur, Kulbhashan Yadav – who had been visiting from Iran and maintaining liaison with insurgent groups to organize their activities for the past several years – only happened because local network and support systems of Baluch groups had significantly weakened.

The specter of unrest in Baluchistan is now being continued purely through terrorist attacks against soft targets. The recent attack claimed by Jammat al Ahrar, despite its savagery is continuation of the same strategy. Sources inside Baluchistan inform that only remnants of TTP – now in refuge inside Afghanistan – have reservoir capacity to create suicide bombers. TTP factions are being supported through a complex financial and strategic relationship between NDS and RAW. (reportedly RAW Afghanistan budget in the last financial year was around Indian Rs. 400 crore; INR 4 Billion) However suicide bombers TTP produces are being traded like market products. So what carries the impression of an ‘ideological struggle’ to many in western media is essentially a commercial market thriving on violence. Traders of suicide bombers- unlike the Palestinian pattern against Israel before 9/11- are seldom willing to sacrifice or risk their own precious lives for the cause, whatever it may be. LEJ that holds the ground inside Baluchistan buys ‘suicide bombers’ as if these are toyota jeeps. TTP factions are the suppliers of human wares and LEJ is the executioner of violence.

But despite ongoing Indian needs and attempts, Baluchistan will not offer much. Its schisms are self-contained and its not urban. Unlike Kashmir and unlike Karachi. Its Karachi where India can play havoc. And Altaf Hussain’s speech inciting violence against Rangers and media, and exhorting slogans against Pakistan can meet the requirements of Modi government. (Remember Kashmiri youth cry anti-India slogans and burn Indian flags; what could be more sweeter revenge projected through Indian and international tv screens?)

Altaf Hussain’s incitement to violence – coming atop of a hurriedly conceived hunger strike of MQM workers over the past few days – couldn’t achieve as much today (22nd Aug) as it would have if MQM’s militant gangs had not been severally bruised and weakened in a sustained 33 month long Rangers operation. Had MQM militancy been intact, Karachi in a matter of hours would have spiraled into mayhem and chaos. But there is no room for complacency. Altaf Hussain represents a cult; he sits atop a mountain of ethnic grievances nursed and multiplied over decades of Sindhi – Mohajir divide. Whatever was triggered today has scope to take different forms. Civil-military divide in Sindh and in centre provides abundant fault lines for all kinds of outside influences to play havoc. Without a broad political unity – that may not be easy to achieve and sustain – an effective counterstrategy to defeat what clearly smells like ‘Modi/Doval’ enterprise will be  difficult.

Pakistan in the end has to talk to India. These talks may be very different than the kind of fancy, ceremonial, media glitzy talks world imagines. These talks, serious and substantive, may be between RAW & ISI, behind the scenes have to be around a genuine ‘quid pro quo’. Both countries need to address their real concerns. Pakistan needs to understand how can it help India without jeopardizing its national security. But India may not be ready for anything ‘substantive’ for despite its endless propaganda and crying designed to woe west, it has nothing serious to fear from Pakistan; it considers itself – thanks to the Indo-US nexus against China – on the winning side of history – a feeling continuously multiplying since 9/11. And India wants more; it wants to push things around as much as it can without any genuine quid-pro quo. But if talks around a table, or a forlorn secret island somewhere in the world did not work, then Pakistan will have no option but to return Modi/Doval in the same language they understand.

But all these imaginative scenarios can wait; first thing is to secure Karachi. Nawaz Govt now needs to talk seriously with British government, with all legal home work, with evidence of audio tapes and transcripts. It immediately needs to hire the best legal firms in London to arm its foreign office with a plausible international case against British citizen, Altaf Hussain; a case that will show that what Altaf Hussain is doing – running politics of agitation and hatred – from British soil is not permissible under UK’s international obligations – not after the plethora of laws westminster made since 9/11. Ministries and their babus in Islamabad & wizards in GHQ can provide pieces of evidence but they are strongly advised not to over estimate their legal and moral arguments or their cerebral skills; let this tricky job be done by a London Law Firm. Let London gag and force Altaf Hussain to where he now belongs: sick bed. Let Karachi and its politics move on.

Tonight with Moeed Pirzada: The Muslim Slayer ” Narendra Modi’s savage history”

The Muslim Slayer: Narendra Modi’s savage history!
Mr. Narendra Modi, the savage premier of India, has a dark history. Prior to being the country’s Prime Minister, he was accused of being responsible for the 2002 Gujrat riots that led to the slaughter of hundreds of Muslims. Narendra Modi is at the other edge of hypocrisy when he’s seen as a beacon of peaceful coexistence.
Doctor Moeed Pirzada presented a time line for Mr.Modi’s atrocities against the religious minorities especially Muslims. Doctor Pirzada revealed how Mr.Modi of the BJP has been the clandestine operator of these massacres and heinous crimes. In the Gujrat riots, a very senior member of the Indian intelligence gave testimony against Mr.Modi.
